Is Christianity falling in the west?

Is the beliefs, slowly falling, and people are becoming atheist, or converting? Has it already happened in Europe, and why? Will it happen to America soon? How many years do you predict in? Is this why Churches are scrambling to convert people in 3rd world countries? What type of effect will it have? Thanks.
